There's been a few changes around here.......

The last year has been amazing and so much fun. I just hope and pray that the years to come are just as good because I've been having a blast. Thought I would update you on a few changes around here though. Firstly I have a website if you haven't already seen it, which is here:

and I also have a new blog which you can see here and this is where I will be posting updates from now on:

It would be great if you could follow my new blog to keep up to date with my fab Brides and Grooms and also a few babies and fashion shoots thrown in for luck!

Ruth and David's wedding day

A part of Ruth and David's day is finally here. It feels like only yesterday we were meeting up at the Gypsy wagon site, getting excited about the pre-wedding shoot!

On the 23rd October I was invited to a wedding that I have been excited about for a while. I didn't only feel I was going there as a photographer, but I felt I was also going there as Ruth and David's friend. That's how they make you feel.

The ceremony was taking place in St Bartholemew's Church, Oakridge, near Stroud and it was Ruth's Dad who was going to be taking it! Not only that but instead of hymns, the congregation were going to be singing 'All you need is love' by the Beatles whilst blowing the Kazoo for the chorus. Now you see why I couldn't wait?

A little while ago I let you see a sneak peek of this gorgeous Girl so I thought I had better let you see a few more. The house we shot in was absolutely gorgeous and it was her Dads!!! Note to self though; before lying on the grass for outdoor shots, look down first. If you see a wasp waiting for you then move!

The Long Awaited Wedding Pro Blog!

Welcome to the mega exciting wedding pro blog!!

I came up with this idea and pitched it to the lovely Nicola here at Daffodil Waves Photography. When she jumped at the idea, I knew this would be something special.

I figured that with so many people being seen as ‘wedding experts’ - whether it be wedding blogging, wedding photography, wedding crafts or anything else wedding related – it seemed about time to put our dresses where our mouths are and show you how we all did it!!

Now, not all of the fab wedding types featured here are married, and that is totally cool as we have got some extra exciting shots from these guys.

I’ve tried to split us all up into sections based on what we all do in the wedding business – hopefully, that will make it easier for you to find us all and see who we all are. I’ve also added site links in for everyone so that you can follow the fabulous dress and it’s owner to their website and browse away!

I hope you enjoy reading this post as much as I have enjoyed putting it together (I’m such a sucker for a wedding photo!!)

Right... let’s get started with the big guys, the queens of the net, the bloggers!!!
- So... first up, we’ve got the lovely Annabel at Love my Dress.
For those of you who’ve not seen the blog before, you have been missing out – it’s cutting edge and classy and is run by this beautiful lady...

Annabel got married in Whitby on 20th March 2009 (that was the first day of spring that year). The venue was Dunsley Hall – a stunning surrounding for the 50 guests that attended. Annabel was hoping for ‘old Hollywood vintage glamour’ and boy did she hit the nail on the head! The stunning dress was ‘Selene’, by Jenny Packham. Purchased from Poppy Bridal in Darlington - As if the wedding was not special and beautiful enough, added extra touches included the flowers, which were grown in the garden by her husband and all of the invites and other stationery was created by Annabel herself. Their lovely daughter also starred as a bridesmaid. So stunning, it was featured in ‘etc’ magazine!!

So, now you’re hooked on wedding porn, let’s bring in the next beautiful blogger...
- The edgy and uber chic Kat of Rock n Roll Bride... as you may not have seen her before!! If you are planning/have planned a wedding/come into contact with anyone planning a wedding, then you must have heard of this blog. Featuring ridiculously amazing and unique weddings, engagement shoots and anything else that is super cool!

On first take of this gorgeous photo, you wouldn’t be alone in not spotting Kat as we know her. On second look, you realise that it is indeed our pink haired blogger and she is looking truly beautiful as a brunette.

This pic is actually from Kat’s bridal shoot taken a few weeks after the wedding by the fab David McNeil. The actual wedding however, took place on 12th April 2008 at Greyfriars church, Reading and The Elvetham, Hartney Witney. The theme for the day was black and white.
The wedding was so ace, it was featured in wedding ideas mag and by our beautiful Annabel’s love my dress blog.

Right-o, next stop on our wedding delight ride is Lou of Whimsical Wonderland Weddings
The blog holds a huge variety of cute and contemporary weddings and engagement sessions, plus bags of inspiration for any bride to be.
Those of you that follow Lou, you will know that she is most definitely going to be a bride soon. She recently had to put her plans on hold, which must have been heartbreaking for her, but I think that the extra time will mean that the wedding will be AMAZING when it comes!
Lou’s plans are for a DIY wedding at home, totally relaxed and non formal or elegant
Lou is the first to show a non-wedding snap, so she has supplied us with one from a good friend’s wedding. The snap shows Lou’s fave dress and was taken in May 2010 at Offley Place in Hitchin.

Good luck with your plans Lou, it will be ace!

- Next up, we have Anna of Anna and the ring
Anna and the ring is a seriously exciting blog, showcasing a myriad of bits and pieces. It covers weddings, thoughts and personal bits and pieces – it’s a bit like the book you never owned, but wished you did!
I have to say that of all the stunning and fabulous photos that were sent in, Anna’s one made me grin the most!!

This pic of Anna may have her looking rather young for her age... in fact it is from her 4th birthday party and she’s wearing her absolute fave party frock!
Whilst crushed velvet is always the look of choice for any pre-schooler, I reckon the wedding, which is planned for this November, will have a slightly different look! Anna is planning for a decadent and relaxed day in Northumberland.

- Ok folks, next stop is Alexis from OMG getting married
This is another blog that features super stunning weddings, engagement sessions and TTD/CTD – all alongside some great resources and links.

Alexis is another bride to be – and boy, we can’t wait to see those photos. Unfortunately, you’ve gotta wait till next September for the big reveal!!

- So, last, but not least in the blogger section is Claire from Wedding Inspiration.
This blog is a gem amongst blogs. Not only does it feature real life weddings, but also loads of sources of inspiration for brides to be.

Claire runs the blog whilst planning her own wedding which is to be held on 8th October 2011 in Glasgow. The rest of the details are remaining a secret!!

Now... from bloggers to planners –these guys save some serious bridal bacon at times and help to create some blindingly gorgeous weddings!
- Our first planner is Kelly from Boho Weddings and Events
To say that Boho is a wedding planning site wouldn’t do it justice. The huge range of traditional and alternative ceremonies sits alongside destination weddings and post wedding events. There is also a serious amount of inspiration to be found!
Well, Kelly has been kind enough to share her beautiful wedding pic with us...

This fab 5 day long ‘Ibiza Chic’ wedding bonanza was held on 16th June 2009 in a Private Villa in Ibiza. The very personal and spiritual ceremony was at 6.00pm. The mood was very relaxed and chilled out. The food was amazing, and The DJ from ‘Space’ kept everyone dancing all night and ensured that the party went on till 5am....with most of the guests ending up in the pool once it went dark.

- The next seriously stunning planner is Beckie of Temple Gregory
Temple Gregory has such gorgeous classic and elegant weddings on their site and when you take a look at Beckie, you’ll see why...

Beckie got married at Cain Manor in Surrey on 7 December 2008 in a beautiful wintery wedding with an open fire, candles, fairy lights and mulled wine. The beautiful dress is Maggie Sottero's Victoriana in Ivory. Beckie chose not to wear a veil and wore a lovely handmade tiara instead. She also wore a fabulous Bvlgari bracelet which her husband to be had sent up to the room whilst she was getting ready, she screamed when she opened the box & then wore it for the rest of the day.

- Now, here is a wedding planner that is close to my heart – what with me being a Sussex girl and all! A really excellent planner specialising in all things Sussexy and beautiful! Check out the gorgeous Nicola of Brighton Wedding Planner...

Nicola’s fabulous wedding was held on 7 September 2007 at the breath-taking Newick Park. The vintage/muted colour scheme was accented with crystals inside the roses, on the favours and on... her Gina shoes! The beautiful gown was a Caroline Castigliano.
Nicola’s best bits about the day included spending time with friends and family and amazing them all with their choreographed first dance!

- Our next beautiful wedding planner is Alison of Plans and Presents
The plans and presents site shows how traditional weddings should be planned, check out the pics on the site!
Alison herself was married on 21st August 2004 The wedding was at the David Lloyd Club in Renfrew, Renfrewshire.

Alison had planned the wedding so it was a family affair and it ignited her passion for planning.
The dress was a Justin Alexander, purchased from Berkertex Brides, in Glasgow.
Alison’s husband hired his kilt (Modern Campbell) from Houstons of Paisley.

- Now, onto Laura of Little White Book

It’s always nice to see something a little bit different and whilst Laura showcases beautiful weddings, she offsets them with delicious trash the dress and other grungy shoots.

Now, as Laura is lucky enough to still be dreaming about the wedding she’ll have one day, she has included this ace shot from a trash the dress session. Laura actually made the dress!
The shoot took place just after the Feb/March snow had thawed and was freezing! Note the mud patches and leaves acquired after unsuccessfully climbing up a muddy bank!!
What an ace idea... brave girl!

- Right, so the last planner is the very gorgeous Louise from Bow Occasions
Bow occasions is a fresh new planning site with bags of great ideas and help for brides to be that are in a bit of a pickle. Louise manages to plan weddings for people whilst also planning her own – now that is impressive!

The wedding plans so far involve having a fabulous and relaxed afternoon tea after getting married in Canterbury on 27th April 2012.
Sounds fab and I cannot wait to see pics!

Right, time to concentrate on some of the bones of the wedding industry – the indispensable suppliers – starting with you photographers, videographers and music types!
- First up we have Nicola of Daffodil Waves Photography (well, I couldn’t very well hi-jack her blog and then not put her first, could I?! Plus she is truly stunning!!)
Daffodil Waves provides us all with new, exciting and cutting edge shoots and competitions – fairly new to the scene, but sprinting her way to the top! My personal fave shoot is the ‘Twiggy Inspired’ set – cool, fresh and funky whilst still keeping the retro style – nice work!
But anyway, let’s spill the photo because it’s ace!

Nicola tied the knot on 23rd Feb 2008 in Birmingham. The wedding was relaxed and fun – even though Nicola had been so nervous on the run up to the wedding that her husband to be asked her if she was actually going to turn up!! Nicola was lucky enough to have an amazing gospel choir and delicious west Indian food – making sure that no guest left with a rumbly tum!! The rather dashing suit that her hubby is wearing in the snap was a surprise to Nicola as she hadn’t seen it before the day!

- Our next wedding tog is the mega cool Jasmine of Jasmine Star Photography
If you’ve never seen the work that this lady does, you should, it’s terrific!!

Jasmine had her wedding on 09.28.05 in Oahu, Hawaii. The day had a classic tropical theme to it and looks seriously cool!

- Hitting your screen next is the beautiful Noa of Featherlove photography
This is wedding photography with a cool, classic twist and a hit of vintage – you only have to take one look at the shot from the wedding day (which Noa actually took herself) to see the style that this lady loves!

Noa was married on a private estate in Escondido, CA .
The stunning dress was something of a project for Noa and after months of trawling dress shops and auction sites, she realised that it would have to be made. Noa had a vintage lingerie item that she found which she kept referring to and decided that the dress should be based on that. She found a dressmaker with a background in theatre costume design. She found some beautiful Chantilly lace for the bodice and created it exactly how Noa had imagined. It's still her most favourite thing!

Now, here is our one and only guy – yes peeps, I cannot believe that the whole wedding industry is run by women and shy men... where do they hide?? Well, this guy was brave enough to come out of the woodwork and show us a great pic!
- Paul von Rieter of PVR photography is a master of heart-achingly stunning photography – he is usually most at home behind the camera, but this great snap was taken by the bride at this wedding and shows him being dragged into dancing by the brides 80 yr old, energetic Argentinean Grandfather – LOVE it!!

This wedding was on the 21st March 2010 at the Salt Creek Grill in Monarch Beach California

- Our second to last photographer is the very lovely and ultra relaxed Michelle of OEIL photography.
OEIL photography showcases photos so cool that they make you jealous! Edgy and funky, they need to be seen!
Michelle got married before her photographer days on Dec 30th 2005 at Escambia county courthouse in Pensacola, FL and this pic is the only one they have from the day. The wedding was super relaxed, with no witnesses, and no flowers (the ones in the photo aren’t theirs!)

They’ve now have been married for 4.5 yrs and have two sons, Pepe who is about to turn 4 and Jude who just turned one!
What an amazing wedding, where they can truly say that they day was about them, their love and getting married – fab!

- And the last photographer is the uber lovely Adele of Bluelights photography
Another truly exciting photographer producing photos to make you green with envy!

Adele is yet to marry, but this is an outfit that she wore for a friend’s wedding in Shrewsbury. In fact, this dress was an emergency purchase as it was bought on the way to the wedding as Adele had left her dress at home! It was a mega bargain at £18!! Funnily enough, she received more compliments about this dress than the More expensive dress she had worn to a previous wedding!! Think that says something, eh?! Great!!

So, onto the music and motion guys!
- Tracey of Midway media is up first. She specialises in capturing the moments of the day that you’ll want to remember and the bits that you miss as a couple.

Tracey got married on a wet and windy 29 February 2008 – leap year day! The ceremony was held at Emanuel Church, followed by a reception at the Ramada Newton Park Hotel The theme was historical houses and castles, with a colour scheme of aubergine, ivory and gold.
When Tracey was making her way out of the church, her garter fell down to her foot! As long as it was just the garter though!!

- Our musical babe is the talented Ashley from Hi-fi weddings
This seriously cool company takes the guess work and endless head-scratching out of music for your day – if you’re a bride to be, you should swing by these guys and check them out!
The ridiculously beautiful Ashley got married on May 20th 2006 in a friend's 20 foot, tiered backyard garden. The reception was held at a New Orleans inspired restaurant down the street called 801 Franklin!

The dress came from David's Bridal. Most of the wedding planning went in to compiling the perfect wedding day mix, which ended up spanning over 6 discs! Copies of this were handed out as favours.
Whilst the photos were taken by Richard and Beth at Downtown Studios, Ashley did all the post processing herself – clever girl!

Right, time for a break with a nice relaxing facial and some wedding inspiration...
- Joyce Connor of Brides and Beauty offer an amazing array of beauty therapies and products for any possible part of a bride to be!
I’ve got a non-wedding photo of Joyce here at a friend’s wedding from 2nd May this year.

The wedding was held at Swallowfield House near Reading and Joyce did the bride’s makeup too!

Whilst you are relaxed after your facial, pull up a chair, a cup of tea and get some massive inspiration from the very ace Emmie of Little Miss Wedding
- Little Miss Wedding is literally bursting with ideas for any bride, the pics and posts make you want to get married all over again... minus the stress!!
Whilst Emmie says that her one regret of the day was that she had no professional photos, I seriously love the pic that she has sent!

The wedding was held on the weekend before Christmas so the day had a Christmas theme - lots of fairy lights, candles, Christmas carols, gospel choir and a Jenny Packham feather shrug to keep her warm.
The ceremony was in an Arts and Crafts church in Turnham Green. After which, 3 double decker buses took all the guests (180 of them!) to the reception - these buses were loaded with champagne too. Emmie and her new hubby travelled by Karma Car. The driver took them through Portabello Market, where all the stall holders congratulated them. The evening party was at the Amadeus Centre, - a blank canvas where they could do whatever they wanted. A friend’s band sang in the evening and some fab caterers cooked incredible organic food. There were carols after dinner and a fantastic DJ. The party went on till after 2am! Sounds dreamy!

Right, back to it now people... we’re on to what I can only describe as ‘pretty things’! All the bits and pieces that a wedding needs to make it shine!!
First up....
- Kelly from Tantrums and Tiaras
If you guys are after something sparkly and pretty, this is the definitely one of the places to go! In fact, Kelly wore one of her own tiaras and some of her jewellery on her own big day!
The wedding was last Valentine’s day and had a vintage theme to it. The beautiful dress was a Benjamin Roberts gown from Proposals Bridal Studio in Witney. The wedding was held at St Mary's Church in Princes Risborough and then the reception was held at Bradenham Manor

It’s hard to imagine when looking at this beautiful pic that Kelly had any probs at all before her wedding, but you know what? She has a hair story to make you cry!!!

So, as every bride has a firm idea on how they would like their hair to be on their big day, it’s important that it is right... well, poor Kelly had had 2 unsuccessful trials costing an obscene amount of money – this is where she felt she should have gone elsewhere, but hindsight is wonderful, eh?!
Kelly had got a quote for herself and the bridal party to have their hair done and this included lots of little extras like food, time and space. Unfortunately, this was not the case at all. No food was provided, the space was not given, nor was the time as Kelly ended up having 3 different people work on her hair.

After spending a huge amount of time at the hairdressers and getting very late - Kelly wasn’t able to leave until 11.25 and was getting married at 12!! The time came to pay and boy is this the bit where it makes you sick... the £400 Kelly had been quoted, turned into £720!! The one tip that she would like to give any bride to be is to get any quotes written down so that you know what to expect.
Unfortunately, all of the mess in the morning meant that Kelly missed out on time with her family and all of the pre-wedding photos – definitely something to think about there. The photo is stunning!

- Rebecca from Chez Bec is up next and no, do not adjust your screen, the picture really is that amazing!!
Chez Bec is a Mecca for all things shiny and pretty – I’m married and still hunt through thinking “hmmm, when could I wear that” or “I need this for...”

Rebecca got married on the 12th August 2006. The wedding was a classic and beautiful Ivory theme. The venue sounds dreamy and was held in Tavistock, Devon in a huge marquee in Rebecca’s Mum’s garden – how ace does that sound?!

- The next slice of pretty heaven comes courtesy of Kerry from Kerry Blu
If you haven’t searched through the treasure trove of Kerry Blu yet, you’ve really gotta!
Kerry got married on 16th June 2007 at the Imperial Hotel on Blackpool seafront. She had a traditional civil ceremony followed by a wedding breakfast and a live swing band in the evening – LOVE swing bands!!

This beautiful pic was taken by Kerry’s sister!!
The day was made extra special for Kerry as her Dad was with her and managed to walk her down the aisle, despite being very ill. He has since passed away, so the pics and memories of that day are extra special to her – no surprise that the day went by in a blur for Kelly.

- Ooooh, next on the list is Paula from the Vintage Sparkle Company
I urge you to all go check this place out – I am umming and ahhing over many things on there – such beautiful pieces!!
Paula got married on the 26th June 2004 in Dummer church in Hampshire. The wedding had a roses and sparkle theme.

The dress was made for Paula – wow!! Although Paula says it looks out of date now, I disagree – smiles don’t age!! I love that she says that the photos still make her smile and that it was the best day she’s ever had!!

- OK, whilst we’re on a sparkly mission, I’ll bring you the hugely stunning photos of Lisa from Jon Keith Diamonds – I’m issuing a jealousy warning!!
Not only does Lisa deal with Diamonds on a daily basis, but she even outshines them!!

Lisa got married on 26th Sept 2009 at St John’s Church, Havering atte Bower, Essex This was followed by a marquee at her parents’ house. The beautiful dress was from Bellissima in Woodham Ferriers. And obviously the Wedding rings came from Jon Keith Diamonds!!

- Laura from Lobster Love is up next!
If you haven’t seen what Laura makes, then you really ought to – they’re so good that Laura actually made her own accessories for her big day!

So, the wedding was held on 12th June 2010 at a church in Woking. After the ceremony, the reception was held at a local village hall. This was decorated by Laura and her friends and family – I really like the fact that she found a 4-leaf clover that day whilst taking a break outside the hall!

Settled in amongst the homemade bunting, there was a hog roast, Cornish ale and a cake made from cheese to mark their Cornish/French heritages. Sounds really great!!

- Now for Lisa at Lou Lou Belle Designs. She handcrafts beautiful pieces of jewellery from gorgeous sparkly beads and crystals, lovely stuff!
Lisa got married at the Orchid Hotel in Bournemouth on 26th April 2008.

The gorgeous dress ‘Niceas’ was by Rosa Clara and was altered to include a sweetheart neckline, the lace backwards jacket removed and the satin sash added. Stunning photo!!

- Right, on to the last of the jewellery type people!
Christa from steampunkbox makes really ace little bits and pieces from old clock parts – so very fitting with the vintage style!
Christa was married in the Japanese Garden in Van Nuys in Los Angeles at the end of the 90’s – well, she’d actually already been married for 6 months by that point as she had eloped to Vegas without telling anyone!!

The dress was made by a tailor in a small town near to L.A. and has a whopping 4 metre train on it! The building that Christa got married in was a tea house and her sister was the maid of honour whilst her son walked her down the aisle.

Now onto you paper-based lovelies!!
- I couldn’t talk about weddings and paper without mentioning the delicious Lucy of Lucy Ledger Designs, especially as we have a slightly scary amount of wedding related similarities!!
Now Lucy makes amazing table plans and stationery packs, as well as prints and cards – you must check them out!!
Lucy got married last Christmas (22nd Dec) at St Mary's Church, Ecclesfield with a reception held at Whitley Hall in Sheffield.

Lucy had a spectacular Christmassy wedding, but not without a few dilemmas... the snow not only made the day really magical and festive, but it caused all sorts of problems- half of the guests were stranded across the Pennines trying to get to the wedding and it took them over 6 hours to get there! Lucy’s poor mum fell on the ice and had to go to AandE the night before, then, on the day the wedding cars got stranded and she had to be carried to the church by the chauffeur!

If that wasn’t enough, Lucy’s new husband dropped a glass of Champagne down the front of her dress! Whoops!!
Even after all of that, Lucy still says that it was a fantastic day that she’ll never forget.

- Our next paper darling is Sophie from Cards by Sophie
Now, in case the business name didn’t give it away, Sophie is a dab-hand at making cards! But not just any old cards, these are super pretty cards, save the dates, invites etc! Go take a look!
Sophie got married on Waiheke Island, New Zealand on 21st December 2007. The colours used were dark reds.

The beautiful dress was from Butterflies bridal shop in Edinburgh whilst her husband hired his suit from a shop in Auckland (which was completely the wrong size as it had been booked over the internet - he ended up with a different one altogether!) Gorgeous!

From one paper lady to another...
- Suzanne of Pretty Wild also makes truly stunning wedding stationery including gorgeous letterpress bits – yummy!
Now, Suzanne wasn’t being brave enough to show us her wedding snaps from the early 90’s (apparently it involved a meringue which I would have LOVED to have seen...I think we should still get her to share, tehehe!!) So instead, we can check out this snap of her!

So, the last of the paper people has the best hat...
- Mary of Quite Contrary Crafts creates and blogs about cool crafty bits.
She is yet to get married, so she has sent a pretty cool pic of her favourite Wedding.

The photo was taken on 27th September at St. James’ Church, Clitheroe, Lancashire. It shows Mary and 2 of her friends sporting pretty darn cool hats made by a milliner friend – Jen Levet (why aren’t any of my friends milliners?!)

- Here is the very talented and muchos cool Heidi of Giddy Kipper
I’m going to make the assumption that EVERYONE knows about Giddy Kipper (if this is not the case, I suggest quickly nipping off, checking out the link and coming back before we notice that you’ve gone!!) The stuff is just ace!!
As Heidi is yet to tie the ball and chain to her ankle, she has shared a pretty funky photo with us.

The photo was taken at her best friend’s wedding in a castle in Bonnyrigg,

Scotland. The outfit that Heidi is wearing was a purple dress with matching long tartan coat, her other half was wearing a kilt in similar colours! - both outfits were made by her mum!

OK, so we’re scraping the barrel now as we’ve reached the last possible entrant... me, haha!!
- So, I’m Charlie of Cherry Pie Lane – I make ‘handmade lovely things’ from clay!
I got married to my best friend last Christmas on a chilly 23rd December. We chose the beautiful Shelley’s Hotel in Lewes, East Sussex and this is where we got married and had the reception.

My Dolly Couture dress is something I wish I could wear every day... though my bump makes wearing a bin bag tricky at the mo! My beautiful shoes were Irregular choice (and got more compliments than me and my dress put together!) I made my bouquet myself and still have the scars to prove it!!
We had an ‘eventful’ run up to the wedding. The snow prevented all of the Scottish family from coming and made some people late on the day. The best man got stuck in his residential country of Austria thanks to a certain lot of air strikes – he made it in the end though! My Grandad sadly passed away a few days before hand and then my Dad was rushed into AandE... yes, I was very pale, green and zombie like at this point!!

I have to hand it to some of my dear friends and family and the wonderful staff at the Shelley’s and my great suppliers for making the day as good as it was – we got there in the end, haha!!

Ruth and David's Pre wedding shoot has finally arrived! On a Sunday Morning we travelled all the way to Hereford for the perfect location for the perfect couple. We just had the most amazing time shooting in the Gypsy wagons and surronding areas. I have to say I haven't laughed so much during a shoot, Ruth and David had me in stitches. They told us a few funny stories while we were on location... Ruth what number ring was this again? They are really great people and it comes across in their relationship. Hi Sweets!!

Toni here, for those of you who don't know I accompany Nicola pretty much everywhere she goes... oh and I go to the photoshoots as well. I thought I'd quickly post some of the 'Behind the Scene' pictures, so you guys get to see the Photographer in all her glory.

Believe it or not Nicola is actually quite camera shy!! Quote "I prefer to be behind the camera, that's why I take the photos....." You get the drift, it took a lot of persuasion for her to actually let me take the photos, so please enjoy this rare chance. Hopefully I can sneak a few more photos from the upcoming shoots ;)

Today I met the amazing Ruth and David. I am shooting their wedding in October and if I wasn't already excited enough about that, we decided to get together before wedding for a chat about the plans and take a few snaps while we were out. Rock n Roll Paaaaaaarty!!

For the last few weeks everybody has been talking about the Rock n Roll party in London. Finally the day came around and we were jumping on the train from little ol' Birmingham to go and meet the fab people we have been chatting to for ages and finally put a face to them and give them a squeeze!

To be fair I was a bit rubbish on the picture front because I was chatting too much. In fact, I didn't see many Photographers there with cameras as they were all having a very well deserved night off!

I was very fortunate to spend the day shooting an Engagement shoot with the beautiful Jade and Anthony at a very unique location. The Tipi Adventure in Hereford was gorgeous and even though the weather wasn't that great we still had a lovely day. We just shot inside the tipi when it rained! Sunday was an absolutely fab day. We had such a blast!! I found this amazing location I absolutely fell in love with it and the fashion was a reflection on that... Here is a shoot inspired by one of the greatest British 60's icons, Twiggy!! This was one of my favourite shoots to date because it was so much fun walking around Birmingham with a big Yellow Balloon. On the 30th June I was invited to the Wedding of Stacy and Alec. It was such a gorgeous, intimate day with me being one of only 29 people there. The girls started off at home, getting ready and drinking.....lots! It was an honour to be there when Stacy had her 'OMG this is really happening' moment just after putting her dress on.

I then made my way to Cheylesmore Manor House where the couple were having their ceremony. It was gorgeous, with it's historic features and beams. I was in my element! The ceremony was lovely and after a few tears we all made our way to the Reception.

Here are a few pics I would like to share with you from their special day. I hope you like them as much as I liked taking them.

Jen and Matt

I had such a great morning with Jen and Matt. They are getting married at a gorgeous National Trust venue that Jen's Dad is the caretaker of (Jen actually grew up there)!! On site there is a gorgeous little Church where Jen and Matt want to hold the ceremony and then have the Reception in a Marquee in the grounds.

It was lovely walking around the venue and it was so peaceful. All the little Animals were running around without a care in the world and the weather could not have been nicer. Matt even brought his baby "Bessie" along with him!

My Grandad's camera....

I went to stay with my Nan on the weekend. Whilst I was there I was showing her my pictures and camera when she said she had something my Grampa would love me to have.

She went in to her cupboard upstairs and produced this. She bought this for my Grampa for his 21st Birthday and had kept it to this day. He would be 73 now and I miss him so much.

This bank holiday weekend I took the opportunity to go and visit my Family in Wales and whilst there I met up with the gorgeous Jessica. We decided to go down to the beach near where I used to live and raided my prop box! Well, I haven't laughed so much in a long time.

One of us suggested on walking out to the 'dry bit' of sand that we could see in the distance (I blame Jessica) and the first hurdle was getting down the rocks to the sand because of course, we couldn't do the sensible thing and find some steps!!!

Happy that we were still alive we then headed out to the dry bit if sand. It soon became obvious that this was a very bad idea and it started to look like we had been in a mud bath. The sand also liked to trick you! I was walking along when suddenly it felt like I had stepped in to a big whole and now one of my legs had been grabbed by the sand up to my knee! Jessica found this very funny, until it decided to swallow her too (not so funny now was it)!

In the end we just though stuff it and had laughed so much that we decided to carry on. So, here are a few pictures from our day down the Mumbles Beach...

Thank you Jess for such a fab day and evening. We will have to do it again very soon!!

For those who wanted to know: Lollies were from the lovely Linsey at The Candy Can Company and tasted gorgeous. The fantastic parasols were from Paradise Parasols and the fab letters were from Posh Graffiti.

On Sunday it was my Birthday and I had such a fab weekend!! I would actually say it was one of the best Birthdays for the last.....well, a few years ;-)

On Sunday I went to the Zoo with a good friend. I don't think I have been to the Zoo since my Mum took me as a young un! I had a great time but the weather was that hot that the animals were just sunbathing. They did not move all day! A few slush puppies later and I headed home to get ready to go and see Peter Kay live! Oh yeah baby! He was great as usual and Rick Astley was his support act. Now, I never thought I would see myself write this but he was actually quite good. You didn't see me write that OK?

Sunday I was woken up by my Husband with loads of bags in tow! I don't know what came over him but he really spoiled me. I must have been a good Girl (or cooked his favourite food in the week or something). I squealed with excitement at some of the things I opened. Clothes, shoes and other things every Girl loves.

Then we headed to my In Laws house. I didn't think it could possibly get any better but I was wrong. They went mad and I just felt so lucky to have received such fantastic presents. A gorgeous BBQ in the evening, added with great company, just topped the day off. One of the best weekends I have had for a while. Here are a few pictures of my day. x

I have been so busy recently but I spent some time in my back garden today in between studying and housework. I have got some amazing shoots coming up. The Ladies that I have been speaking to are so lovely and I really can't wait to finally meet them and their Partners. Anyway, back to work for me and i'll be back soon with another update.

A break from the day job......

Unfortunately I have a day job as the money growing tree isn't quite ready yet. A few of us decided to have a break from the office and enjoy this nice weather while it lasts. At first the view wasn't that pleasant with all the graffiti and that slight smell of wee (you know the smell you get in multi story car park stairwells). We kept going and what we saw became easier on the eye.....

This was at the bottom of someones garden, leading on to the canal. A lovely place to live in this weather I would image. Like the secret garden......

Back to work we go.......

I can't believe we have had nice weather in the UK for more than 3 days now. I'm sure I have seen so many more people smiling these last few days too so the Sun must be having a positive effect on other peeps too!

We thought it would be nice to take advantage of these longer days by taking a walk through to the local park. I love all the pretty colours this season brings and the moment you spot a Ladybird for the first time that year. The bike might even get brushed off this weekend. Lets see if I can get the Husband on his first ;-). Anyhoo, enough from me, here are a few pictures from my day with my lovely Sister in law......

Yay! I have a shiny new blog to play with :-). I can't wait to update you with what is happening in my life and career.

I love and have always loved taking photos and it hasn't been until recently that I have thought long and hard about helping other people capture their memories for them to treasure forever. I also love working with Photoshop actions and textures and sit for hours, not just behind my camera but also behind my PC.
